What is Explanation Text?  

Explanation Text is a text that explains the way or process of something happened, especially those related to natural phenomena, the scientific world, or socio-cultural. 

Purpose of Explanation Text 

The purpose of Explanation Text is to explain the process that occurs in the formation of something or activities related to natural, social, scientific, cultural, and other phenomena that aim to explain why and how this can happen.

 

Structure of Explanation Text 

— General Statement

This section contains general information text about the topic to be discussed.

— Sequenced Explanations

Sequenced explanations contain explanations of the process of why these phenomena can occur or be created. Sequenced explanations can consist of more than one paragraph.

— Closing/Concluding Statement

This section may contain additional information or the author's opinion and contains the closing or conclusion of the phenomenon.
